The Boldons can be broken into three main areas. East Boldon, West Boldon and Boldon Colliery. Nowadays most of the pubs do some kind of food from a simple snack to a full meal.

Others have almost gone completely over to being a restaurant.

Many pubs are in close proximity of each other such as in West Boldon. We have the Red Lion, Wheatsheaf and Black Horse within minutes of each other with the Travelling Man only a short walk away. The Italian Restaurant of Brunello complements the pubs who all do fantastic food.

The Red Lion, which is next door to Tubs and Shrubs Garden Centre boasts a fantastic car park which is well lit up and covered by security cameras. Outside seating and a West facing conservatory makes this an ideal place to have a meal whilst watching the sun go down. During the day the friendly proprietors are happy for you to park here whilst visiting Tubs and Shrubs Nursery next door.
